On July 16th 2011, the New England Garrison (NEG) were guests of T.C. Restani, an internet-TV host who gives improvisational interviews as a “Late night talk show” parody . The NEG was inducted to T.C. Restani’s Hall of Fame, and were recognized for their contributions to charity and love of Star Wars. The New England Garrison was proud to support  our good friend and celebrated Star Wars author Ryder Windham as he hosted a charity event run by the South Attleboro Knights of Columbus.  The event was held to raise funds as well as to collect books for families in the surrounding communities who can’t afford them for their children.  Speaking in front of a packed hall of fans of all ages, Ryder presented a behind the scenes look into what goes into being an author for a franchise as popular as Star Wars.  Sketches and notes from his personal collection were displayed as…

The New England Garrison was pleased to once again be a large part of the show at Granite State Comicon in Manchester, NH on May 15th, 2011.  Granite State Comicon is a smaller sized convention in terms of what we normally attend but it’s been growing steadily for the past few years and it’s always a lot of fun.  Chris from Double Midnight Comics is a great host and always does good by the 501st. Members of the 501 New England Garrison and Alderaan Base were on hand to support the 3rd annual Star Wars Day at the Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester, MA http://www.higgins.org/ Troopers roamed the halls and met with museum patrons in addition to supporting three panels throughout the day: two on molding/casting/thermoforming and one on Dressing a Clone Trooper (side by side with a dressing Gothic-Style Knight). On September 11th, 2010 two members of the 501st Legion – New England Garrison and two members of the Rebel Legion – Alderaan Base were invited to attend a blood drive at Fenway Park in Boston, MA. Lord Vader was escorted by a faithful Stormtrooper alongside Han Solo and his co-pilot Chewbacca as they made their way through the crowds of people. Troopers posed for pictures with people as they walked through the different levels of the ballpark.
