On Sunday, March 16th members of the 501st New England Garrison, the Rebel Legion Alderaan Base and Canadian Base, and the Firaxan and Wampa Clans of the Mandalorian Mercs came together to march on the streets of Boston for the annual Saint Patrick’s Day parade! Troopers braved the cold temperatures to bring smiles and cheer to the thousands of fans who lines the streets of South Boston to watch this parade. On Sunday, February 23rd members of the 501st New England Garrison and Rebel Legion Alderaan Base participated in a podcast at New England Comics in support of Mark Leibowitz with ‘The Jundland Wastes’, which covers the issues, ideas and the imagination in the Star Wars expanded universe. Troopers greeted people as they came into the store, posed for pictures with guests, and even headed out to the sidewalk to greet anyone just passing by. Also in attendance was Zack Giollongo, a Star Wars comic book illustrator who came in to talk about his recent book Shadows of Endor.

On Saturday, January 25th members of the 501st New England Garrison, the Rebel Legion Alderaan Base, and the Firaxan Clan of Mandalorian Mercs arrived at the Tsongas Center for a matchup between the UMASS Lowell River Hawks and the Providence College Friars. Darth Vader was escorted by a fleet of his faithful troopers and also guarded by a squad of bounty hunters, led by the fearless Boba Fett. On Saturday, December 28th we saw two universes collide while working together to help the Rhode Island Blood Center collect donations. Members of the local Star Wars costuming groups worked alongside fans of the Star Trek franchise and held a friendly competition to see who could get more people to donate blood for their team. In addition to the efforts taking place here at the RI Blood Center, an identical blood drive was being held in Colorado by members of the 501st Cloud City Garrison.
