It wouldn’t be a Weird Al concert without the 501st Legion on stage! On Sunday, July 12th, the New England Garrison attended the Weird Al show at the Flynn Center in Burlington, Vermont. As with other stops along the Mandatory Fun tour, our troopers took to the stage for the encore, as Al and the band played “Cell Phones”, and then the classic hit “The Saga Begins” Our troopers who attended said it was a good time for all. But then, a Weird Al show always is. There were reports of a mix up involving food (did we eat the…

Baseball and Star Wars; two great tastes that taste great together! Especially when the New England Garrison is involved! Saturday, July 11th was Star Wars night at the Lowell Spinners, the Single A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. The NEG, along with members of the Rebel Legion and the Mando Mercs, were out in force at LeLachuer Park, as the Spinners took on the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. By all reports, it was a great crowd! On Wednesday, July 1st, members of the 501st Legion’s New England Garrison attended the One Year Anniversary of the Tilt Classic Arcade and Ale House in South Burlington, Vermont. This “barcade” is filled with vintage arcade games, pinball machines, and is a great place to go for food and fun. We were able to send two Stormtroopers and a Biker Scout to the event. They played some classic games (Probably not first person shooters though. Stormtroopers aren’t known for the marksmanship!) and mingled with the crowd. The owners of the establishment where very happy to have us there, and made…

On the weekend of June 26th and 27th, the New England Garrisons attended MASSiveCon, in Worcester, Massachusetts. Held at the DCU Center, this was the first time MASSiveCon had come to Worcester, and the NEG was happy to attend. Troopers said it was a slow con for the Garrison, but we are happy to report that we were able to raise $145 for the Boston Children’s Hospital. Bad guys doing good, for the win!
