On Thursday, March 31st, members of the New England Garrison and Alderaan Base stopped by the house of a young man named Landen. He’s an 8-year-old Star Wars fan who was suddenly and recently diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. After finishing up his first round of treatment his family thought it would be a good time to arrange a visit for him. And our members were more than happy to make that happen. Landen is a great kid and we are so glad the family reached out to us so that we could help make him smile!
On Sunday, March 20th, members of the 501st New England Garrison, Rebel Legion Alderaan Base, and Mandalorian Mercs joined forces to march on the streets of South Boston for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. Troopers braved the cold temperatures to greet fans who lines the streets along the 3.6 mile route. Click here for a full album. https://flic.kr/s/aHskxNEw8q
On Monday, March 14th, members of the Green Mountain Squad and Alderaan Base paid a visit to the UVM Medical Center for their Big Roundup fundraiser. This is a huge event which involves a local initiative that helps raise money for the University of Vermont Children’s Hospital each year. Local schools and businesses help collect change, and the Hospital has this big RV that goes out each weekend to help collect the money, finally donating it all on the final day, 3/14.
On Sunday, March 6th, members of the New England Garrison and Alderaan Base attended the Blue & Gold Banquet for Cub Scouts making the transition to Boy Scouts in Framingham, MA. It is always an honor to stand guard and participate in these events. It is wonderful to see the accomplishments the young men have made on their journey. On Sunday, February 28th, members of Alderaan Base and the New England Garrison attended the Frank Maratta Auto Show. This show has been going on for over 50 years and features all kinds of classic and modern cars, trucks, and more. Our members were on hand to help greet the guests as they wandered around the show floor and pose for pictures. It was a great time as we helped make for some interesting photos with our members in the various cars and bikes at the show!
