On December 27th, 2014, members of the 501st New England Garrison, along with the Rebel Legion Alderaan Base and the Mando Mercs Firaxan Clan were invited to join our new Andorian friends Ell and Vynni – The Farthest Star and other Star Trek costumers for annual the Galaxy Blood Drive.  Organized by author Ryder Windham and the The Rhode Island Blood Center, the event was held at the Providence Public Library. On Sunday, December 21st, members of the 501st Legion – New England Garrison and the Rebel Legion – Alderaan Base were invited to join the Boston Super Hero Group for an event called “Cupcakes for Heroes”, sponsored by Hero Helpers of America. The event was geared towards helping homeless and injured veterans. At the event, over 3000 cupcakes were decorated by attendees, and letter donated to a local veterans shelter. On Saturday, December 2oth, members of the 501st Legion – New England Garrison and The Rebel Legion – Alderaan Base where asked to pay a visit to a young Star Wars fan who was recently diagnosed with cancer and is in the hospital to begin his chemotherapy treatments. On Saturday, November 29th, Darth Vader, Plo Koon, and an Endor Commando marched in the City of Lights parade in Lowell, MA. This parade is the grand finale to a day of festivities that ends with the ceremonial lighting of the downtown area, officially kicking off the holiday season. The trio were also joined by Captain America and Black Widow of the Avengers as they walked the parade route. Their mission was to help support a local non-profit group called STEP, short for Special Teams for Exceptional People. On Sunday, September 21st members of the 501st New England Garrison paid a special visit to a very special person. Peter Allen dreamed of joining the 501st but unfortunately was diagnosed with ALS before he could finish his TIE Pilot costume. So members of the garrison took it upon themselves to finish the costume for Peter and make sure that his dream came true. Welcome to the 501st Legion pilot!!!
