On Saturday, December 2oth, members of the 501st Legion – New England Garrison and The Rebel Legion – Alderaan Base where asked to pay a visit to a young Star Wars fan who was recently diagnosed with cancer and is in the hospital to begin his chemotherapy treatments. On Saturday, November 29th, Darth Vader, Plo Koon, and an Endor Commando marched in the City of Lights parade in Lowell, MA. This parade is the grand finale to a day of festivities that ends with the ceremonial lighting of the downtown area, officially kicking off the holiday season. The trio were also joined by Captain America and Black Widow of the Avengers as they walked the parade route. Their mission was to help support a local non-profit group called STEP, short for Special Teams for Exceptional People.   Over the course of four days in November, members of the 501st Legion – New England Garrison, Alderaan Base of the Rebel Legion, Firaxan Clan of the Mandalorian Mercs, and droids from the local R2 Builders Club were invited to The LEGOLAND Discovery Center Boston, in Somerville, Massachusetts. This was the first Star Wars weekend for our local LEGOLAND, which included a special night for season pass holders.   During the weekend of November 1st, members of the New England Garrison and Alderaan Base attended the 3rd Annual Rhode Island Comic Con in Providence. While the con had some issues with overcrowding, which lead to some ticket holders from being locked out for a period, the weekend was a big success for the NEG. We raised a grand total of $1414.74 for the Hasbro Children’s Hospital. There was also a Blood Drive at the con, which collected 49 pints of “the good stuff”.
