On Sunday, October 25th, members of the 501st New England Garrison and Alderaan Base joined forces to march in the Lion’s Club ‘Woburn Halloween Parade’. “This event draws in excess of 80,000 people a year, hosting over 25 bands and more that 90 floats from local groups and organizations. The parade route begins at the intersection (rotary) of Rt. 38 and I-95 by the Woburn Cinema/Crowne Plaza, exit 35 off of I-95 heading south on route 38, Main Street Woburn Traveling for 2.2 miles to the Woburn/Winchester Line. It’s a true family event filled with kids and full of fun.”

On Saturday, October 24th, members of the 501st New England Garrison and Alderaan Base attended the ‘Plympton Elementary Fall Festival’ in Waltham, MA. “The Plympton Elementary School Fall Festival is a Fall/Halloween-themed event to celebrate the Plympton Elementary School community and raise funds for the Plympton Elementary PTO. This year’s event will feature food, games, events and activities taking place within the school building and on the athletic field.”

  The 501st Legion’s New England Garrison, along with The Rebel Legion’s Alderaan Base were invited to Star Wars Day at the – Liquid Planet Water Park in Candia, NH on August 22nd. This was a nice quite little troop. We had a Jawa, a Jedi and of course that crazy droid R2-D2. It was a slow day at the park and we greeted the guests as they came into the park. On August 14th, the New England Garrison, along with Alderaan Base, was invited to visit the Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, RI. We were invited by The Longbox Comic Books and Collectibles comic shop, who brought along a selection of comics and toys for the kids. We were invited to the cancer unit to bring some smiles to the children there. We had Jedi, Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, Gunners and even a Jawa. We visited areas under the guidance of hospital personnel. She took us to different wards and was very careful about our access so as to not frighten the…

On June 26th, members of the 501st Legion’s New England Garrison and the Rebel Legion’s Alderaan Base were invited to attend a performance of the One-Man Star Wars Trilogy by Charlie Ross, at the Regent Theater in Arlington, MA. Two Biker Scouts, a Stormtrooper and Princess Leia were in attendance. They said it may have been “the easiest troop ever!”. Troopers walked around town and greeted people in front of the theater for about an hour total, then came in for club sandwiches in their roomy dressing room! Then, they were able to watch the last 2/3 of the show….
