On Saturday, May 18th, members of the 501st Legion – New England Garrison and the Rebel Legion – Alderaan Base attended ‘Star Wars Day’ at the Higgins Armory Museum. The Emperor and his apprentice Darth Vader were accompanied by their Imperial forces alongside a team of Jedi led by General Obi-Wan Kenobi. The NEG also participated in a pair of “dressing panels” where a Samurai and Darth Vader’s armor were compared side-by-side. On Saturday, May 4th, members of the New England Garrison took part in the annual ‘Free Comic Book Day’ events taking place all over New England. From ‘Rubber Chicken Comics’ in Bellingham, MA to ‘Double Midnight Comics’ in Manchester, NH the NEG had troopers posing for pictures and greeting fans. On Sunday, March 17th, members of the 501st Legion – New England Garrison, the Rebel Legion – Alderaan Base, and the Mandalorian Mercs – Firaxan Clan marched on the streets of Boston in the annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. Over 40 troopers from all three groups joined forces for one of our largest troops ever! We had a dueling Anakin and Obi-Wan, A squad of X-Wing pilots, Darth Vader flanked by a small battalion of Imperial troopers, and Delta Squad from the Republic Commando video game present for this parade. On Sunday, March 10th, members of the 501st Legion – New England Garrison and the Rebel Legion – Alderaan Base made a special appearance at the Verizon Wireless Arena to celebrate Max the mascot’s 12th birthday! Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Stormtroopers and X-Wing pilots were on-hand to pose for pictures with fans and have fun with the Monarchs playing games in between periods. This was a great night for everyone and Max certainly had a great time on this special day! Lord Vader and his squad of troopers arrived in Lowell, MA along with a crew of Rebels and Jedi, a Clonetrooper and a Mandalorian hunter for the annual Star Wars night at the Tsongas Center. Everyone enjoyed seeing their favorite characters and taking pictures with them during the game. They also played a game called the “Droid Hunt” where kids had to approach the troopers and turn over a Droid to the Empire. It was a great night and everyone had a lot of fun!
