Saturday, June 13, 2015, the Intergalactic Alliance (IA) organization invited members of the 501st and Rebel Legions to participate in the 45th annual Boston Pride Parade. As IA is an inclusive group, members of other costuming organizations joined in the event. Boston Pride welcomed all members with open arms, and attendees were ecstatic to see all costumed participants marching along the parade route. IA is especially grateful to all 501st and Rebel Legions members that attended and supported the event. On Sunday, June 7th, the 501st Legion’s New England Garrison was invited to attend the annual Bowl-A-Thon for STEP, Inc. These event is a big source of revenue for the non-profit program that runs athletic programs and social activities for kids and adults with special needs. The event was held at the Brunswick Zone in Lowell, Ma. Our troopers were there to take photos with participants, and also to throw a few balls! The 501st Legion’s New England Garrison was recently invited to perform on stage with legendary musical genius, “Weird” Al Yankovic. On June 2nd and third, Darth Vader, Stormtoopers, Scout Troopers and a TIE Pilot all took the stage of the Wilbur Theater in Boston, Massachusetts. Our troopers were part of the encore, when Al performed his classic “The Saga Begins”, his version of “American Pie”. They didn’t just storm the stage, they danced adn delighted the crowd! We were there for two shows on the 2nd, and for one more the following night of the 3rd. Each night was great!…

The 501st Legion’s New England Garrison was invited to attend the Crossover Ceremony of Cub Scout Pack 49 in Kingston, MA, on May 19th. The event was held at the Kingston Elementary School. The ceremony involves the different ages of boys graduating up to the next level of scouts by crossing a small bridge in front of their family, leaders and friends, all while affirming their scouting oaths. At this time, they earn their the new neckerchief. The Tigers start on the Wolf Trail, the wolves start on the bear trail….etc. It is very similar to the Blue and Gold…

The New England Garrison, along with the Mando Mercs, were invited back to the the annual Millennium 5K 4 Jake’s Sake , in Hudson, MA, on May 17th.  Jake is a 12 year old boy with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy who loves Star Wars! Jake’s family and the event organizers where so happy to have us there last year, and they we’re very grateful we could attend again this year!  This event will help with medical costs, and home modifications for Jake and his wheelchair. Other funds raised will go to Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, a not-for-profit organization founded in 1994, which is trying to…
