Another week, another Weird Al show for the New England Garrison! On August 4th, we performed on stage at the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center in New Bedford, MA with Weird Al on his Mandatory Fun Tour.  Sadly, this looks like the last New England appearance for Mr. Yankovic in the tour.  We did 6 out of 7 shows with Weird Al and his band as they swung through New England, and every experience was great! In fact, several of Al’s people noted throughout the night that we (meaning the NEG crews) were their favorite 501st groups of all the ones…

On August 1st, the 501st Legion’s New England Garrison attended a Star Wars Day at the Pierson Library in Shelburne, Vermont. This was a small event, with a Stormtrooper and Scout Trooper attending the event that day. But what it lacked in size, it made up in fun! It was “a ton of fun!” in fact, according to those who were there! They had some activities set up for the kids to play, Star Wars themed snacks, and the kids were thrilled when we walked in to hang with them. Lara (501st recruit and VERY close to being approved) is…

Weird Al’s Mandatory Fun tour keeps rolling across New England!  And on Sunday, July 26th, Al and his band played the Maine State Pier, on the water in downtown Portland, Maine.  And of course, once again, the New England Garrison was there, on stage, to add a touch of Star Wars magic to the show! It was another great experience for the NEG.  At this point, we have the routine down!  We had Vader, 4 Stormies, a Scout and a Snowtrooper.  Plus, one pint sized Jawa!  We arrived early to find our “dressing room”, which was a converted shipping container….

The game was even advirtised in the local movie theaters, with the N.E.G. being center stage in the advirt. We were the talk of the town even before the first pitch was thrown! We had seven people out in the field, and…

On June 26th, members of the 501st Legion’s New England Garrison and the Rebel Legion’s Alderaan Base were invited to attend a performance of the One-Man Star Wars Trilogy by Charlie Ross, at the Regent Theater in Arlington, MA. Two Biker Scouts, a Stormtrooper and Princess Leia were in attendance. They said it may have been “the easiest troop ever!”. Troopers walked around town and greeted people in front of the theater for about an hour total, then came in for club sandwiches in their roomy dressing room! Then, they were able to watch the last 2/3 of the show….
