On Saturday, April 21st troopers of the New England Garrison made an appearance at the Marlborough Public Library as they celebrated Star Wars Week over April vacation to provide fans in the community an opportunity to enjoy the galaxy from far, far away in written, film, and live form.

On Saturday, March 31st members of the 501st New England Garrison trooped The Big Birthday event for Birthday Wishes, a non-profit that provides birthday parties for homeless children. Birthday Wishes recognizes the importance of a birthday in a child’s life and believes that the gift of a birthday celebration provides normalcy, joy and hope in these children’s otherwise unsettled lives. This was their annual event to bring community awareness to the organization. 501st Members brought smiles to the faces of kids and participated in activities to ensure this day was special for both the volunteers and the children.

On Saturday, February 25th members of the 501st Legion – New England Garrison and Rebel Legion – Alderaan Base arrived in Lowell, MA to troop a hockey game between the UMASS Lowell River Hawks and the Merrimac Bears. A quartet of Clonetroopers alongside Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi, a squad of Stormtroopers and a pair of TIE Pilots escorting the Emperor were on hand to meet fans and pose for pictures. On the 3rd of December 2011, Members of the 501st New England Garrison Marched along with Rebel Alderaan Base at Manchester NH’s annual Christmas Parade. Several Jedi lead the march ,with the Imperials in quick pursuit, for some 30,000+ spectators who lined Elm St to see the festive holiday parade. The Spirit of NH holiday parade is the largest Christmas Parade in NH. A donation to the Jimmy Fund was made in the name of the NEG/AB.

On Saturday, December 10th members of the 501st Legion-New England Garrison and Rebel Legion-Alderaan Base arrived at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA to support the American Red Cross in the annual “Bob’s Heroes” blood drive. Commander Gree (sporting a Patriots jersey), two Stormtroopers, a Snowtrooper, Biker Scout, TIE Pilot with Imperial Crewman and Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi were on hand to pose for pictures with people waiting for their turn to donate blood. Lots of people came out to support an important, life-saving cause and everyone in attendance had a great time!
