On January 20th, X-Wing Pilots from Alderaan Base’s Phantom Squadron joined the 501st New England Garrison at the annual Red Cross Blood Drive at TD Banknorth Garden, home of the Boston Bruins. Representatives from the team were on hand as the troops entertained fans in the family area, and the Pilots even faced off with the Biker Scouts for a quick game of miniature ball hockey! On October 15 the 501st NEG and the Rebel Legion’s Alderaan Base joined author Ryder Windham at the Rochambeau Branch Library, Providence RI for a Star Wars themed blood drive. The library greatly exceeded collection expectations and everyone had a great time!

On Sunday, September 11th, the New England Garrison of the 501st Legion, and Alderaan Base of the Rebel Legion were invited to join the American Red Cross for a blood drive. This was no ordinary blood drive; this blood drive took place at historic Fenway Park in Boston, MA; the home of the Boston Red Sox. On September 11th, 2010 two members of the 501st Legion – New England Garrison and two members of the Rebel Legion – Alderaan Base were invited to attend a blood drive at Fenway Park in Boston, MA. Lord Vader was escorted by a faithful Stormtrooper alongside Han Solo and his co-pilot Chewbacca as they made their way through the crowds of people.
