On Sunday, October 25th, members of the 501st New England Garrison and Alderaan Base joined forces to march in the Lion’s Club ‘Woburn Halloween Parade’. “This event draws in excess of 80,000 people a year, hosting over 25 bands and more that 90 floats from local groups and organizations. The parade route begins at the intersection (rotary) of Rt. 38 and I-95 by the Woburn Cinema/Crowne Plaza, exit 35 off of I-95 heading south on route 38, Main Street Woburn Traveling for 2.2 miles to the Woburn/Winchester Line. It’s a true family event filled with kids and full of fun.”

On Saturday, October 24th, members of the 501st New England Garrison and Alderaan Base attended the ‘Plympton Elementary Fall Festival’ in Waltham, MA. “The Plympton Elementary School Fall Festival is a Fall/Halloween-themed event to celebrate the Plympton Elementary School community and raise funds for the Plympton Elementary PTO. This year’s event will feature food, games, events and activities taking place within the school building and on the athletic field.”

On Sunday, October 18th, members of the 501st New England Garrison and Alderaan Base attended the ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk’ in Burlington, VT. Troopers were on hand to greet walk team members as they entered the park to register their teams.

On Saturday, October 17th, members of the 501st New England Garrison attended the ‘Palmer Pumpkin Palooza’ festival. “Palmer Soccer Association and Gotta Dance are organizing the Palmer Pumpkin Palooza. This exciting community event is designed to celebrate the fabulous fall gourd, the Pumpkin. Last year we had some amazing carved pumpkins on display. This year we hope to double the size of this display. We will have entertainment, food and merchandise vendors as well as several community groups providing activities.” Troopers were on hand to greet festival guests and pose for pictures.

Members of the New England Garrison where invited to a space themed wedding in Woodstock, Vermont, on September 6th. The event was help at The Woodstock Inn.   The bride works in the commercial spaceflight industry, and the event was well-attended by NASA astronauts, spaceflight executives, and engineers. The ceremony was even officiated by NASA astronaut Michael Lopez-Alegria, who wore his his flight suit!   Our Stormtroopers escorted the bride and groom from the altar. Nobody attending the wedding knew our TKs were going to be there, and there was quite the roar when they walked up the isle!  …
