Another week, another Weird Al show for the New England Garrison! On August 4th, we performed on stage at the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center in New Bedford, MA with Weird Al on his Mandatory Fun Tour.  Sadly, this looks like the last New England appearance for Mr. Yankovic in the tour.  We did 6 out of 7 shows with Weird Al and his band as they swung through New England, and every experience was great! In fact, several of Al’s people noted throughout the night that we (meaning the NEG crews) were their favorite 501st groups of all the ones…

For the third time this year, Weird Al Yankovic came through New England to make a couple of stops for his “alpocolypse Tour”. Members of the New England Garrison visited the show and went on-stage while Al sang his Star Wars parody ‘The Saga Begins’. It did not take long for the troopers to loosen up and start dancing to the music, that is when Darth Vader was not looking anyway. Although even the Dark Lord himself gave in and helped get the crowd into the song by raising his red-bladed lightsaber into the air and waved it side-to-side! To…
