    October, 2018

Rookie Of The Year: Benn Robbins (ID-33335) @bukket1138

Our Rookie of the year award goes to Mr Benn Robbins. Benn has been helping us out for a long, long time as a wrangler, photographer, booth babe... whatever we have needed. But this year he finally took the plunge and joined up for real. It's great to have you as an official member (finally!!)

Wrangler Of The Year: Emma McGowan @OriginalEmmArt

Our Wrangler of the Year has gone above and beyond at troops to ensure that everyone is taken care of. Our Wrangler of the Year is Emma McGowan.

Rebel Of The Year: Jennifer Catania (ID-50721) @jeneyre

Our Rebel of the Year has come to become a helpful resource and positive influence on new members. Over the past year, this rebel has become a mentor in our mentor program and has been assisting many new recruits. Jennifer Madden Catania is the 2018 Rebel of the Year.

Imperial Of The Year: Aaron Curto (SL-91851) @Cosmo

Our Imperial of the Year is the man behind the scenes, making sure that our forums and calendar are in good working order. Throughout the year he's been super responsive to all requests, and has made constant improvements to our technology. Aaron Curto is the 2018 Imperial of the Year.

Mandalorian Of The Year: Kaila Ringgard (#2075) @Kaar'ryn

The Mandalorian Mercs Costume Club mission states "We invite individuals with a common love for STAR WARS™ and the characters while encouraging self-improvement, personal growth, family involvement, and fellowship with peers." This member, is a shining example of our mission and a wonderful addition to our Firaxan family. This person shows involvement in our troops, willingness to help others, and displays the quality elements of what our true family really is.
The award for MMCC trooper of the year, goes to Kaila Ringgard!

Trooper Of The Year: Hayes Johnson (IC-4289) @AgentRayBans

Our Trooper of the Year was nominated by many; each praising him for similar acts of selflessness and comradere. He helped coordinate and motivate a full squad of Imperial Gunners in Michael King's honor for his family at this year's Relay for Life. He is an armor guru and helpful encyclopedia for our members trying to assemble their costumes. He has served not only the Green Mountain squad, but also the NEG as a whole, working to maintain a strong, supportive, and friendly community. For the work done in Mike's memory, helping our members with builds, and for being a exemplar of Legion values, the 2018 Trooper of the Year award goes to Hayes Johnson.

Justin Manning Award: Jason Deveau (SL-24642) @macloed316

Next is the Justin Manning award. Some of our newer members might not know who he is or why we have this award, so a very brief intro might be helpful. Justin was a long time member of our groups, one of the first handful of Rebel Legion members in New England, going back prior to the existence of Alderaan Base. He was relentlessly optimistic, always positive, and wanted nothing more than for his Star Wars family to be together and happy. We lost him to cancer, but his memory lives on through this award.

Our recipient this year has shown a similar attitude. Even in the face of challenges he has remained positive, taking the high road, working with people, and building relationships. In particular this year he has been a huge help to our neighbors in Connecticut, helping to form a relationship between the NEG, AB and the CTG the likes of which we've never seen. I remember how Justin felt as the NEG and CTG were splitting up and I'm sure he'd be happy to see us trooping together again at last! Congratulations to Jason Deveau on being the 2018 Justin Manning award winner.

Golden Porg Award: Erich Shafer (ID-6124) @Freq

In recognition of his years of dedicated service to Alderaan Base and the 501st, Erich Shafer is the first (and probably only!) recipient of the Golden Porg Award.
